Bolthouse Farms Review & Giveaway!!

Almost everyone has tasted a refreshing Bolthouse Farms beverage.  I was sent two coupons for 2 Carrot or Beverage Products to review, so I picked out the Berry drink (1qt.) from the store. It was soooooooo delicious!! (I also liked the shape of the bottle.) I shared this with my mom and brothers (yes, I was nice and shared:); my mom especially enjoyed it. What's great about this drink is, not only does it taste good, but it is a 50/50 fruit and vegetable blend! So to be exact, it contains...79 berries, 6 1/2 purple carrots, and 5 apples. Wow- very healthy! For people on-the-go, this is how to get your daily fruit & veggies! Besides there being 4 servings of fruit and veggies, this drink is also gluten free, and has no preservatives, artificial colors, flavors, or genetically modified ingredients. Other Bolthouse Farms flavors include Vanilla Chai Tea, Amazing Mango, and Mocha Cappuccino.

The Bolthouse family began commercial vegetable farming in western Michigan in 1915…

Farming was back-breaking work in those days. Land had to be cleared as soil was prepared for the first crop. From the very beginning the company was known for quality and innovation. Vegetable varieties were continually improved, and the company advanced from field packing celery to storing onions for off-season supply. Before long, local canneries relied on William Bolthouse for carrots, celery, spinach, and onions. These local canneries soon were companies like Gerber Products, The Campbell Soup Company, and H.J. Heinz. By1950 Bolthouse Farms® was a leading supplier of carrots to Midwest processors. Carrots with the green tops attached were the standard in the 1940’s and 50’s, but customers were interested in the added convenience of modern packaging. In 1959 William Bolthouse built a fresh carrot cellophane packing facility. With quality recognized by customers, the company began marketing to the newly emerging chain stores and supermarkets. Even today the trade calls whole, bagged carrots “cellos!” The chain stores relied on the quality of Bolthouse carrots, but there was one problem– customers wanted fresh carrots year-round. William H. Bolthouse, son of the original founder, searched America for just the right location to harvest carrots every day. In 1972 he decided that Bakersfield, California, had the right combination of sun, soil, and climate. Growing carrots in Bakersfield was anything but the “conventional wisdom” back then. To the surprise of many, the new packing plant grew quickly, as customers enjoyed superior carrot quality in any season of the year. The consumer appetite for freshness grew with the need for convenience. In 1990, William J. Bolthouse, grandson of the founder, introduced SHORTCUTS®. Ready-to-eat SHORTCUTS® are cut and peeled in a gleaming new processing facility. SHORTCUTS® were just what customers wanted. Demand was so great for SHORTCUTS® that a much larger plant was added in 1994. Yet another plant was added in 1999. Bolthouse Farms® is one of the largest carrot operations in the world. In fact, you might be eating Bolthouse carrots in your packaged salad, your favorite restaurants, in vegetable beverages, or in a variety of prepared foods. Bolthouse Farms® built a state-of-the-art bottling facility and introduced Bolthouse Farms® Super Premium Beverages. In the tradition of Bolthouse Farm’s commitment to premium quality and superior flavor, all Bolthouse Farms® beverages begin with the highest quality and freshest tasting all natural ingredients. Every batch of Bolthouse Farms® juice is taste tested and quality inspected before it is released. Each batch passes through a patented clean-room bottling process where sterile bottles are filled and capped in a Class 100 Clean Room, ensuring the product is as safe inside the bottle as it was only seconds after it was flash-pasteurized. The benefit of all this is superior food safety, extra long shelf life, unmatched flavor and enhanced nutritional value. Bolthouse Farms® discovered the purple açaí berry from Brazil and learned it is a nutritional “super fruit” with the exciting potential to be used as an ingredient in super premium refrigerated juice. In 2006, Bolthouse Farms® established Bolthouse Do Brasil to bring the amazing açaí berry and other exotic fruits to customers around the world. Located in Belem, Brazil, Bolthouse Do Brasil® brings the farming and fresh produce expertise of Bolthouse Farms® to the fast growing açaí market by applying superior post-harvest handling and processing technology. The result is the purest and highest quality açaí in the industry. Bolthouse Farms® introduced an exciting new line of all natural refrigerated salad dressings. With yogurt instead of mayonnaise as the base, they provide less than half the fat and calories of the leading brand – with all of the flavor. Yogurt provides a smooth creamy texture with a tangy flavor that blends extremely well with other ingredients. Using an innovative pasteurization process, the premium ingredients maintain their flavor, freshness, integrity and nutrition. Whether it is carrots, beverages or dressings, at Bolthouse Farms® the end result ensures our customer’s satisfaction with unrivaled quality and customer care.

As you can see, Bolthouse Farms has many different products to try!

Ecover Review and Giveaway!

Ecover is an all natural company that has many useful products for the home. Here are a few things Ecover offers: Dishwasher Tablets, Glass and Surface Cleaner, Stain Remover, Boat Wash and Wax, and even Toilet Bowl Cleaner! Ecover generously offered me one of their products to review, so I chose the Lavender & Aloe Vera Hand Soap (8.4 fl. oz.) to review. (That was a good scent too, since my mom really likes the smell of lavender!) We put this in our little bathroom, and it's a nice change from the old soap bottle that was in there before.  My mom likes this soap because it doesn't make her hands feel dry after washing.  This soap is "based on plant and mineral ingredients", is PH neutral.

                   Here are the environmental benefits:

"-optimum level of biodegradability
-minimum impact on aquatic life
-no animal testing
-suitable for septic tanks

                                  About Ecover

Ecover is an international company active in the production of ecological cleaners. Founded in 1980 in Belgium,we have been a trendsetter from the very start: as a pioneering company, marketing a phosphate-free washing powder even before phosphates were branded as a problem.

Since then, Ecover, under the ownership of Jørgen Philip Sørensen CBE, has developed into the world’s largest producer of ecological cleaning products. Besides its headquarters outside of Antwerp, Belgium, Ecover has sites in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Switzerland, and our products are marketed in more than 26 countries.

Ecover’s progressive environmental policy is not only demonstrated by the products we sell, it is also an integral part of the company’s business operations. Acting in the spirit of the externally ISO 14001 standard, we have extended our environmental policy to all departments of the company, from production to marketing.

One of the most striking results is the world’s first ecological factory. Built in October 1992, it has a grass (sedum) roof extending over more than 10,8002 feet. It received extensive press attention at the time, and draws more than a thousand visitors every year even now. In May 2007, Ecover opened its second ecological factory in Boulogne sur Mer, Northern France.

Ecover has received awards and recognition on many occasions for its special contributions and achievements in the field of environmentally friendly, sustainable development. Among various recognition, perhaps the most prestigious was being named to the Global 500 Roll of Honour of the United Nations Environment Program, in 1993."

Scripture Designs Review + Giveaway!!

Scripture Designs was the perfect company for me to contact, since I really enjoy writing letters. (My family can definitely relate to this:)  I was able to pick a pack of the Photographic Christian Notecards to review, so I chose the "Backyard Butterfly Notecards." The photos are sooooo vivid, clear, and beautiful!! There are 6 cards in a pack, along with envelopes: 2 Fritillaries, 2 Monarchs, and 2 Tiger Swallowtails. My favorites were the Monarch and Tiger Swallowtail ones, and I have used both Monarch cards to write a note to my grandmother and to a friend. There is also a King James Bible verse on each one, making it even more special!

The back
I first heard about Scripture Designs from a friend's blog, so for those who do not know about Scripture Designs...let me fill you in:)

"You may be wondering who owns and runs Scripture Designs, where they live and what they’re like. My hope is that this article will help to answer your questions and enable you to get to know us a little bit better.

We are a small, family run business located in rural Connecticut. In order for you to meet our business team you must, of necessity, meet our family, the Stover family, because the two are inseparable. As a Christian, Home School family, our parents chose a quiet, simple lifestyle, enabling us to become what family should be, each others best friends. There is no one on this earth that I would rather talk to, work with or spend time with than my family. We admire each other and encourage one another on to greater levels of success. Though we each have our own areas of expertise we endeavor to do everything together! Scripture Designs is simply an extension of our togetherness.

Three of the young people in our family, Jeremiah, Hannah and Sarah, worked together to spearhead the launch of Scripture Designs early in 2007. Before long others of the family began showing a genuine interest in what we were doing. Today the three of us, along with our parents and six other siblings, participate together in the various aspects of running the business."

Read about the artist of the "Backyard Butterfly Notecards":

"About the Artist: Hannah Stover. Growing up in the hills of Connecticut cultivated in Hannah an early and deep appreciation for all of God’s creation, but especially for the wildflowers she enjoyed bringing home to identify. While quite young she developed an interest in art, first in handwork like embroidery and later in the more refined skills of sketching and painting. Here her knowledge of wildflowers became invaluable as, with pencil and pad, she produced detailed reproductions of the flowers she so enjoyed. Soon she also began exploring the possibilities of photography and would spend hours following butterflies around the gardens, or walking the neighboring brooks after a Spring downpour in search of tumbling waterfalls. Not content to merely be creating art, she began to seek for a way to share her skill and creation’s beauty with others. This desire sparked the beginning of Scripture Designs which now features her art in both card and Scripture print forms. Each new design incorporates portions of Scripture, thus testifying to her love, not only for the beauty of creation but also for the God Who created it."

Scripture Designs also has beautiful Scripture Verse Art Prints for your home.
I know my penpals are just going to love getting these brilliant, eyecatching cards in the mail!!
They are offering one of my readers their own pack of photographed notecards!

Country Bob's Review and Giveaway~ 2 Winners!!

Country Bob's is a favorite sauce enjoyed by many Americans.  I was sent 2 bottles of the All Purpose Sauce to review, and it went perfectly with the pot roast and mashed potato dinner we ate last night.  Typically, my mom isn't a steak sauce fan, but she had 2 helpings of Country Bob's!  Wow...very unusual of her:)

The All Purpose Sauce is preservative-free, unlike most other brands.  What I like the most about Country Bob's is that they give the glory to God.  On the side of their bottle it says, "Christ is our C.E.O."  Read about how Country Bob's began...

"How does anything really good get its start? Where do great products come from? Usually they are the result of much time being exerted and a tremendous amount of love being invested. At that point you can say, "That's mine! I made that." That's the way Country Bob Edson created his All Purpose Sauce.

In 1968 Country Bob perfected the sauce of his dreams. After years of giving the sauce to friends and family he began to sell it in 1977. The reaction was overwhelming just as it is today. Almost everyone who tries Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce becomes a lifelong user. And why not, it is the perfect complement to practically any meal set on your table.

It was actually October of 1982 when Country Bob, Inc. became the company, which remains today. Bob Edson,Terry Edson, Al Malekovic and Reed Malekovic formed a corporation with equal ownership. Since that time Country Bob's distribution has magnified regionally in all directions from our corporate office located in Centralia, Illinois. Even with the tremendous growth we have not forgotten where we came from, continuing in our relentless pursuit of product excellence.

Along with our All Purpose Sauce we have expanded our product line to include BBQ Sauce, Seasoning Salt and Spicy All Purpose Sauce. With our fully automated bottling line we also have the capability of producing Private Label products for stores or restaurants."

Country Bob's is offering 2 of my readers 2 each of their very own bottles of the All Purpose Sauce!
