Moody Publishers Review + Giveaway {pt. 1}!!

In the past I've really enjoyed The Daughters of the Faith Series, so I was extremely thrilled to have the opportunity to review The Captive Princess from Moody Publishers!  This is a softcover book containing 142 pages and 12 chapters, and is the seventh book in The Daughers of the Faith Series.

The Captive Princess is the story of the famous Indian girl, Pocohantas.  The most favored child of her father, the great Powhatan, and a girl filled with curiousity and questions, Pocohantas loves exploring, and the adventures she shares with her sister Matachanna, brother Nantaquas, and friend Nokomias.

Soon she experiences new adventures as she observes the "tassuntassuk" (meaning "strangers")- the English that arrived on her people's shores to build the colony of Jamestown- and that differ so greatly from her tribe.  She begins an unusual friendship with one of the Englishmen- Captain John Smith- after saving him from being killed by her tribe.

During the period of time that John Smith has to sail back to England from having been injured, Pocohantas is taken prisoner after being traded for a copper pot and beads.  Freedom will never be acheived, unless the required payment be made.  The situtation brings Pocohantas to the awareness that she needs to be cleansed and forgiven... only by Jesus' blood.
I love how Wendy Lawton included different Powhatan words throughtout this fictional biography (with a glossary at the end), giving a glimpse into the language of the tribe.  She not brings Pocohantas to life, but also excellently portrays what Indian life was really like.  This is a wonderful gem for your home library!

And be sure to stay tuned for pt. 2 of this review!!

Julie's Organic Icecream & Alden's Icecream Review!

Mmmm... if it's one thing I love it's ice cream! And for me, it certainly doesn't matter what the weather looks like outside- a sure year round treat!  I could eat it every day, yet with all the unhealthy ingredients that go along with ice cream it really isn't worth it.  Finally a wonderful solution!

Julie's Organic Ice Cream and Alden's Ice Cream are two sister companies that make a wonderful variety of delicious ice creams/ novelties.  They kindly sent me two complimentary coupons for this review.  With the coupons, I picked Julie's Organic Ice Cream Sandwiches and Alden's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
The ice cream sandwiches were quickly gone:)  They have a nice texture to them, and it's refreshing to know that there's no nasty ingredients in them!  In addition to vanilla, they also come in the flavors of juliette and chocolate.
My little brother was anxious to try them- here's a close-up of him eating one:
Alden's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream was my personal favorite with it's cool and creamy taste.  I used this ice cream in a root beer float which was delicious.

My dad also loved it!  Normally if he would have eaten his regular ice cream it would have made him feel bad, but not with Alden's!  What a great alternative!

I really recommend Julie's Organic & Alden's Ice Cream products~ from frozen yogurt to sorbet to mint chip or blackberry ice cream, there's a flavor for everyone's tastebuds!  Another great aspect about Julie's and Alden's is that you can view FAQs concerning organic matters and more.  Take a look at some of their other mouth-watering desserts- the perfect addition for your upcoming Labor Day gathering:

Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion Review!

Let me introduce you to some life-saving skincare... Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion!

"Skin MD Natural is a breakthrough in skin care that works to prevent dry skin in two ways.  First, it assists the inner layers of skin to absorb moisture. The humectant (an ingredient that attracts moisture) used in Skin MD Natural is unique to it and has been laboratory tested to be 6 times more effective than any other you will find in common skin care products.

Second, a shielding lotion enhances the power of the top layer of the skin to resist environmental irritants while protecting the inner natural moisture.
This can be a big benefit for those who cook, wash dishes and garden because Skin MD Natural helps skin retain its natural moisture and oils in the face of all those irritating soaps and chemicals.
Skin MD Natural has made a commitment to natural skin care by formulating products that contain more than 90% natural ingredients, are hypoallergenic, free of fragrances, parabens and colorants.     All of the ingredients used in Skin MD Natural are 100% food-grade ingredients that are on the FDA's "most safe" list.
Skin MD Natural brings you eco friendly skin care products that manufactured using solar power while also being vegan and cruelty free.
The manufacturer's website has hundreds of dermatologist and user reviews including many addressing severe dry skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis."
They kindly sent me their 4 oz. bottle of Natural Shielding Lotion to review.  It may look like a small bottle, but in it contains a 2-3 month supply!

I tend to wash my hands often so therefore, my hands can get dry quickly.  In the last few weeks, I have been using this awesome skincare mostly on my hands, and wow- it works wonders.  I absolutely LOVE it!  Here's why...  It's formula is thoroughly moisturizing, and really softening to my skin.  It has a "silky" feel, and rubs in well. Unlike MANY other lotions that I've tried, Skin MD Natural doesn't have a greasy consistency.  This natural skincare rates A+ with me!  To read other reviews on Skin MD Natural click here:

If you are battling with eczema, I HIGHLY recommend it.  It has it's own "personality" that will leave your skin as soft as a baby's, and put other skincare products to shame.  Not only is it made with 100% solar energy, but contains extracts from the arnica flower which is great for the skin.  Skin MD Natural is also available in other sizes such as a case of 12 and a gallon container.  Be sure to have some on hand by clicking HERE to order!
