Made By Lin Lin Etsy Shop Review & Giveaway!

Welcome to my very first Etsy shop review!  I'm excited to share with you a cute accessory shop where all the items are handmade in Vancouver!

Lindsay, the shop owner, contacted me about hosting her site on Garden of Giveaways.  She generously agreed to send me her Blue Stretch Bracelet to review.  It came very daintily packaged, and it was obvious that much care and love had been put into its making.
                                    Don't you agree?

The Blue Stretch Bracelet is great to wear with a casual or formal outfits.  I absolutely love the blue beads as that is one my favorite colors.  As you can see, the bracelet has a "antique feel" to it, making it unique and giving it a classic vintage style.  I also like that it is a STRETCH bracelet as opposed to one with a clasp as those tend to slide up and down on my wrist.

Made by Lin Lin offers some quality products that are very bright and beautiful.  Among them are these...

Now for the giveaway!!  Lindsay is kindly offering one of my readers two pairs of Rose Stud Earrings.  Choose from 24 colors

Alfred Review!

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS!

Sometimes finding the music for a particular song can be a challenge. Alfred Music is a company I really enjoy because they seem to carry all the music I could ever imagine! It's a great site for music teachers, conductors, church pianists, vocalists, students, and individual musicians to locate just what they're searching for. They carry music for many different genres and occasions such as classical, jazz, the blues, funerals, baptisms, and Easter. Whether you are a beginner musician, in the intermediate level, or are advanced in your playing, Alfred Music can supply you with great music books or sheet music.

They agreed to sponsor another review, and sent me their Top 50 Wedding Classics arranged by Dan Coates. This book is labeled as easy piano which is an advantage for me as I do not have to spend hours upon at the piano, but can still have a lovely and complete-sounding piece at the end. The songs are simple, but sound harder than they really are. As my teacher has said, "Everybody needs a few of those!"

Another apect of this wedding book that I love is the numer of songs it contains! You can be sure to find songs that suit your style and taste from 50 favorite numbers! Top 50 Wedding Classics content includes familiar wedding songs as "Canon in D," "Bridal Chorus," and "Wedding March" to favorites from movies like "Beauty and the Beast" to ones with a more contemporary feel. My favorites are "The Prayer," "Over the Rainbow," "The Blessings, and "You Lift Me Up." For a more classical wedding, "Trumpet Voluntary," "Ode to Joy," "Air on a G String," and "Bist Du bei Mir (Be Thou with Me)" could be played. This book also features guitar chords for each song.

So if you are a musician with an upcoming wedding to play for, I hightly recommend using Top 50 Wedding Classics to make for a very special and memorable wedding!

Kosher Casual Review & $25 Giveaway!!

"Kosher Casual is owned and managed by Israel Marketing LLC and Gary Swickley, an American immigrant to Israel with a Harvard MBA. Gary has been working for over 15 years with manufacturers in Israel producing garments for export. He also owns and manages Blue and White Kids, a company that manufactures clothing made in Israel for schools, camps, and youth groups in U.S., Canada, and Israel. (http://www.blueandwhitekids.com/) He also developed and owned the popular clothing retail chain "The Machsan" in Israel."

Kosher Casual is an awesome company where you can find women's modest skirts, dresses, workout clothing, girls' clothing, and even men and boys' shirts!  They generously allowed for me to review their Open Drape Cardigan from Soft Vicrose Lycra.  I chose the purple shade in size large.  (Because this garment is made of stretchy material, I went with a large, and I am most certainly glad I did- otherwise, it would've been too small!)

WOW!  I am extremely pleased with my new cardigan!  It is very comfortable, and there are different options for wearing it...

                                                          Untied...

                                                           or tied!
I like to wear this cardigan over a black tee (as shown in pic) or with a thin white long sleeve shirt underneath.  And it matches perfectly with my denim skirts.  The cardigan is very lightweight, and would be great to wear on chilly spring or fall evenings.
Let me show you a few other garments from Kosher Casual's selection:

Kosher Casual is kindly offering one of my readers a $25 gift certificate to their wonderful site!

*Moody Publishers Book Review*

I love adventurous missionary stories; they are captivating, exciting, and full of suspense.  Furthermore, the life of Gladys Aylward has for a while been an inspiration to me.  Gladys Aylward: The Little Woman combines both of those interests!  Moody Publishers most kindly provided me with a copy to review.
This small, softcover book has 18 chapters and is 153 pages long, but there is an amazing lesson to be gleaned from this autobiography.

Gladys Aylward (1902-1968), a famous missionary to China, was brought up in a Christian home, though she did not get saved until she was a young woman.  This happened at a religious meeting one evening.  Following her conversion, Gladys was burdened with the need to reach the Chinese people with the Gospel from having read a Young Life Campaign magazine.  She expressed this need to her friends and to her brother, trying to persuade him to go to China, but his response was," Not me!  That's an old maid's job!  Why don't you go yourself?"

An old maid's job, huh?  Well, this was nothing close to an "old maid's job" as Gladys' brother had phrased it; and since nobody else was doing anything about the problem,
 Gladys decided to go herself.

This proved a most difficult and tiresome job which included many setbacks, including not being accepted by the mission board.  But Gladys did not give up.  She read her Bible, and was encouraged by the lives of godly Christians who persevered like Abraham, Moses, and Nehemiah.  Gladys Aylward left for the mission field with less than $10, and learned to reply upon God.  He was her Everything in all circumstances and situations, from when she had to walk many miles in the bitter cold of Russia because the train could not go through to when she journeyed wiith several children from China all the way to Siam (present day Thailand).  When she was stranded on the train in Russia, she turned to despair, but then thought: "I am failing my God.  He isn't thousands of miles away.  He is right beside me.  Why should I worry about my journey when God is helping me all the time."  Gladys Aylward learned throughout her life that
He is there-
her life verse was this: "Be ye not afraid of them- I am your God."

Gladys Alyward: The Little Woman is an edifying book that will encourage and challenge you to trust the Lord more fully.

About Moody Publishers..."Education. Edification. Evangelization.
The vision of Moody Publishers is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and a biblical worldview in such creative and powerful ways that individuals worldwide will live in increasing measure as His fully-devoted followers. Our mission is to educate and edify the Christian and to evangelize the non-Christian by ethically publishing conservative, evangelical Christian literature and other media for all ages around the world, and to help provide resources for Moody Bible Institute in its training of future Christian leaders."

Reviva Labs Review & Giveaway!!

When my blog was still new one of the first companies I reviewed was Reviva Labs.  I again was presented with a secoond opportunity to review them a few months later.  Now Reviva Labs has once again offered to sponsor a review and giveaway!

I decided to have my mother pick something from Reviva Labs.  She selected the EFAs (Essential Fatty Acid) Cream.

The EFAs Cream comes in a small container (1.5 oz.), and is for "thin, delicate skin" particularly for people in their forties.  My mom lotions her face every morning, and is using this cream for that purpose.  She is pleased with its consistency, as it leaves her face feeling moisturized, yet not oily.

The EFAs Cream has 10 EFAs oils plus more, including sunflower, flaxseed, borage, rosehip, hemp, avacado, wheat germ, pomegranate, and black currant seed oils.  Sure to give your skin a boost!

Read below to find out all about Reviva Labs and the benefits of using their products:

"REVIVA LABS© has introduced many groundbreaking concepts Since its inception in 1973...

The first to introduce exfoliation to america...with our European LIGHT SKIN PEEL
(We were explaining the importance of exfoliation years before the cosmetics giants introduced their versions)
The first to introduce elastin to america...Both in skin-care salons and health food stores
No animal testing! Before it was even an issue (way back in 1973), we announced the testing of our products in skin-care salons rather than on animals
And here are several more "FIRSTS" that we are proud to have introduced via Health Food Stores and Skin-Care Salons
INTERCELLULAR DAY CREAM & NIGHT GEL (with hyaluronic acid & glycogen)
-non-drying approach to acne
-unique dark-spot lightening formulas
-collagen fibre masks
-glycolic acid products
-serum for eyelids
-oxygen-via stabilized hydrogen peroxide
-stabilized ascorbic acid & ascorbigen
("C" extract from cabbage for powerful anti-free radical action)

For over 38 Years Reviva Labs has been producing all natural skin-care products that help leave your skin healthier and more youthful-looking.
Reviva Labs products are sold in professional skin care salons and health food stores worldwide, which attests to our product's effectiveness and safety.
Reviva Labs is one of the most unique skin-care brands in the cosmetic industry. Reviva's products are not conventional commercial items. Established in 1973 to serve the newly emerging skin-salon market, the Reviva line is comprised of skin treatments created for skin professionals demand for individualized formulas that meet specific needs.
Thus in Reviva's broad array, each product is formulated for a specific purpose.
During Reviva's early years, it was known as "The U.N. of skin-care discoveries". With European affiliations Reviva's founder had selected the specialties of 12 different laboratories in 6 different countries, imported them in bulk and repackaged in retail sizes under the Reviva label.
Years later, Reviva Labs own chemists, experienced with natural extracts, were able to reproduce the treatments, following reviva's exacting standards; adding the latest technological advances.
Reviva Labs, a small company compared to the cosmetic giants, via it's european affiliations and dermatalogical research, has introduced more skin-care firsts through America's skin salons and health food stores, than most of the cosmetic giants."

If you have problems with your skin such as acne, blemishes, or dryness, please go check out Reviva Labs!  From their many skincare options, you can be sure to find something to solve the problem:)

Reviva Labs is offering one of my readers their own container of the EFAs Cream!

Striped Shirt Review & Giveaway~ 2 Winners!!

Looking for clothing that features your team colors?  Stripedshirt.com is an interesting company that offers quality made tops that feature various team colors.   Included in their color options are navy blue and white, red and gray, black and gray, red and green, dark orange and white, and red and blue.  They generously allowed for me to select a shirt to review.  I chose to go with the maroon and gold pattern (below).

Even the tissue paper is striped!
My new shirt arrived in a short amount of time after arranging the review with Striped Shirt!
It was packaged very nicely in eye-catching tissue paper along with a couple stickers of the Stripedshirt's logo.

I love the way this top feels!  The material is obviously very good, as it is thicker than just a regular t-shirt.  I wore it last weekend when I went rollerskating with some friends, and it was very comfy to wear.  It also went well with my tan skirt.  As far as the looks of this shirt, the big stripes are just my style- I 'm definitely glad I went with the marron/gold color combo!  At the bottom of the shirt, a little Stripedshirt logo is featured:

If you are searching for tops for ladies, kind, or babies to support your team's colors, Stripedshirt is the route to go!  Excellent product, excellent service.

Stripedshirt.com is offering two of my readers their own striped shirt!!
